  8. If you experience difficulties setting up Microsoft Windows version
  9. 3.00, you might need to update your BIOS. Specifically, the older BIOS
  10. used in some models of laptops can cause a corrupt installation of
  11. Windows.

  15. If you have a Toshiba T3100/20 or T3100e and you are having trouble
  16. using the Windows version 3.00 Setup program (for example, you don't
  17. have a highlight bar to select the computer type), make sure you have
  18. BIOS version 4.20 or later. During the Windows installation, the Setup
  19. program can write information to track 0 on your hard drive if you
  20. have an earlier BIOS version. Installing this way can corrupt the file
  21. allocation table and crash the hard drive.

  23. The T3100e and T3100/20 are older models, and the Setup program does
  24. not detect whether or not the hard drive has enough room to set up
  25. Windows. You need to upgrade your BIOS before you attempt to set up
  26. Windows.
